TradingView alerts are a MUST-HAVE tool for staying on top of critical price movements and indicator signals without constantly monitoring your charts.

Creating Price Alerts

1

Open the Alert Panel

To create a price alert, access the Alert Panel:

Method 1: Click on the Alert icon at the top of your chart.

Method 2: Use the shortcut ALT + A (Windows) or ⌥ + A (Mac).

For trigger, you must choose the price action you want to be alerted to based on the two available options:

  • Crossing: Alerts when the price crosses a specific level.

  • Greater than / Less than: Alerts when the price exceeds or falls below a specific threshold.

3

Configure Notification Settings

Next, set up alert type by choosing how you want to be notified—pop-up, mobile notification, email, or sound. And fix the alert frequency.

Optional: Once Per Bar Close

We recommend using the option "Once per bar close" for the alerts. This makes the alerts to only trigger on bar close which is the ideal option that traders use worldwide. It is best to use this option in 99% of the cases so the signals don't repaint each time.

5

Save the Alert

Click Create to save the alert. Once set, the alert will notify you when the condition is met.

Using Indicator-Based Alerts

1

Set Alerts for Zeiierman Indicator Signals

Zeiierman indicators can be used to set alerts based on specific signals (e.g., Buy/Sell signals).

  • Click the Alert icon or use ALT + A (Windows) or ⌥ + A (Mac).

  • Choose a Zeiierman indicator (e.g., Trend Algo) from the Condition dropdown.

  • Set the condition (e.g., Buy or Sell signal) from the trigger options available.

2

Configure Notification and Frequency

Set the preferred notification method (pop-up, email, sound) and define whether the alert should be triggered once or every time the condition is met.

3

Save the Alert

Click Create to save and activate the alert. You will now be notified when the chosen indicator condition is met.

Alert Settings and Notifications

1

Configure Alert Settings

  • Expiration: Choose whether the alert should expire after a specific time or remain active indefinitely.

  • Trigger Frequency: Set whether the alert triggers once or each time the condition is met.

2

Customize Alert Messages

Use descriptive alert names and messages to easily identify the alert’s purpose. For example, “BTC Price Crosses $45,000” or “Buy Signal from Trend Algo”.

3

Configure Notification Types

TradingView allows you to choose from several notification methods:

  • Mobile Notifications: Alerts on your mobile device.

  • Pop-up Alerts: Display a pop-up in your browser.

  • Email Alerts: Receive alerts via email.

  • Sound Alerts: Play a sound when the alert triggers.

  • Webhook URL: Send alerts to an external system.

Managing Active Alerts

Accessing the Alert Manager
1

View and Edit Active Alerts

To manage your active alerts, open the Alert Manager from the Alert icon at the top of the chart. To edit an alert, click on it and modify the conditions, notifications, or frequency.

2

Remove or Pause Alerts

To delete an alert, select it and click Delete. Alternatively, use the Pause or Reactivate options in the Alert Manager to pause or stop an alert temporarily.

3

Update Alerts

When you change the settings of an indicator after creating an alert, the alert will still trigger based on the old settings. To update an alert, open the Alert Manager, select the alert, click Edit, and reselect the updated indicator settings.
